"Singing with the Chorale has given me a creative outlet during the early years of motherhood, allowing me to pause the rhythms of life with little kids to do something that is just for fun, and to engage with the community in a meaningful way." Hannah Hernick

Members

Members (and prospective members), this page is for you! Rehearsals are held on Monday nights at 7:00 p.m. at the first Baptist Church in New London. The Chorale performs two concerts most years. Our next two concerts will be in January and May of 2026. Our Artistic Director, Alex Ager, provides both challenge and guidance for achievement and musical artistry. Our concerts are frequently enhanced by professional instrumental ensembles and vocal soloists.

Returning Members

Welcome back!

The Singer Letter (gold button, above) outlines the Artistic Director's expectations for Chorale participation, attendance, and dues.

Please download, print and fill out the registration form attached to the Singer Letter, even if you already completed one in the past. Or check your email for the copy of the Singer Letter you received there on August. 6, 2025. After reading the singer letter, you have the option register online instead of on paper. Fill out the registration form here.

Whether you register on paper, or online, please pay your dues in person, by check, at the annual meeting or first rehearsal. Students are not required to pay dues.

Prospective members are invited to sing along at the open rehearsal on opening day of our next session, Monday, September 8, 2025, at 7 pm. Auditions will be scheduled prior to the second rehearsal. You'll be provided with a page of music from our Fall program to prepare for the audition. At the audition, you'll meet with the Artistic Director, who will listen for your ability to match pitches, accompany you as you sing the audition piece, and determine what choir section your voice is suited for.

Choir members are expected to work independently and regularly to learn their music at home between rehearsals. While it is helpful to be able to read music, it isn't essential if you have developed strategies for successfully learning choral literature by ear.

Kearsarge Chorale is a community choir, under the artistic direction of Alex Ager. Please check out our past performance programs and our Youtube videos to learn about the exciting and broad range of music we sing. See our Calendar for a list of upcoming rehearsals and performance.

After you pass your audition, please print the singer letter/registration form (gold button, above) and bring it with you to the next rehearsal. Or, after reading the singer letter, you can register online instead of on paper. Fill out the registration form here

If you would like someone to contact you about choir membership, please let us know. We look forward to meeting you!
